Data Engineer

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.The successful candidate will leverage their development skills and experience, to support the successful designing, ingesting, cleansing, transformation, loading, and display of significant amounts of data.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale ingest systems in a Big Data environmentOptimizing all stages of the data lifecycle, from initial planning, to ingest, through final display and beyondDesigning and implementing data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and replication/distributionDeveloping custom solutions/code to ingest and exploit new and existing data sourcesDeveloping data profiling, deduping logic, and matching logic for analysisOrganizing and maintaining Data Layer documentation, so others are able to understand and use itWork closely with data scientists to craft data pipelines which serve the development of modern AI/ML workflowsCollaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new and more efficient methodsEffectively articulating the risks and constraints associated with software solutions, based on environmentMinimum Qualifications:Demonstrated data analysis and parsing experience.Demonstrated programming language experience (e.g. Python, Java) coupled with significant SQL/database experience.Experience with the full data lifecycle, from ingest through display, in a Big Data environment.Hands-on experience with Java-related technologies, such as JDK, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, and/or Spring, and experience with RESTful APIsExperience with data pipelining systems (e.g. Apache Airflow)Experience developing and performing ETL tasks in a Linux environment.5+ years of relevant software development/programming experience.High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Qualifications:Experience deploying systems that leverage AI/ML technologyExperience publishing results in BI dashboards.Security Clearance Requirements:TS/SCI with PolygraphPhysical Requirements:Use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time #LI-AA1 , #joinmantechd #joinmantechaa
