The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the implementation of a comprehensive strategic action plan, building a shared vision for a future-facing library, and championing the libraries to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a leader with a deep appreciation for the mission of the institution, the ability to lead and manage change with transparency, and a proven track record of driving creative approaches and leading institutional change. The Dean will also be instrumental in re-envisioning the libraries to align with the company's unique identity, fostering doers, makers, innovators, and healers, and will be expected to have a strong focus on digital evolution and future models of knowledge sharing. Applicants for the Dean of Libraries position at the company should have a Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field, with a preference for a Doctorate. A minimum of 5 years' progressive administrative experience in a similar academic setting is required, along with a history of leading with transparency and a shared-governance mindset. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating technology and information literacy to support teaching, learning, and scholarship, and a demonstrated ability to meet the scholarly resource needs of students and faculty. Management skills, including the ability to develop positive relationships with diverse constituencies, and experience in student retention planning are essential. The role also involves budget planning, seeking external funding, and recruiting and mentoring a diverse team of faculty librarians and staff.
