The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the Foundation's strategic initiatives, which focus on preserving the natural environment, promoting human health, supporting local food and agricultural economies, fostering community leadership, and enhancing mental wellness. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in executive management, a deep understanding of family dynamics, and a commitment to community-based philanthropy. The Executive Director will be expected to engage with the Foundation's board, staff, and extended family, as well as with community partners and grantees, to ensure the continued impact and relevance of the organization's work. Candidates for the Executive Director position should be adept at balancing strategic and tactical leadership, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, continuous learning, and a commitment to the values of equity and environmental, social, and governance principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the Foundation's core programmatic areas, particularly in a rural context, and a background in impact investing is a plus.
