The successful candidate will be responsible for the center's leadership and management, including strategic initiatives, team supervision, and the development of strong partnerships. This role is pivotal in driving fundraising efforts to support programming and create new opportunities, and it requires a deep understanding of philanthropic trends and practices, particularly within the nonprofit and higher education sectors. The Executive Director will also have teaching responsibilities, with an expected 25% of their time dedicated to teaching philanthropy and nonprofit courses. Applicants must have an earned master's degree in a relevant discipline, a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in development, philanthropy, nonprofit, and/or financial planning, and a proven track record of managing a team. The role demands excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. A CFRE credential and a doctorate are desired qualifications. The Executive Director will be expected to support and evaluate the center's programming, ensure its alignment with the College of Human Sciences' mission, and provide service and experiential learning opportunities for students. The position is integral to the advancement of the College's mission and requires a candidate who is committed to the values of philanthropy, economic sustainability, and community engagement.
