The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of labor and employment-related matters, including but not limited to, advising on the terms of collective bargaining agreements, assisting with grievances, and supporting the Employee Relations Function. This role also involves providing legal guidance on issues such as employee discipline, performance management, termination, ADA requests for accommodation, and fit for duty evaluations. The Senior Counsel will be expected to have a JD degree from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 10 years of substantive labor and employment experience, with a preference for in-house experience. The ideal candidate will be a competent lawyer with the ability to manage a heavy workload independently, a team player with excellent judgment, and a creative problem solver. They must have outstanding organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires a professional who can establish and maintain relationships of trust and credibility, and who is proactive in providing counsel to clients. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in the development and revision of policies and procedures and must be prepared to travel up to 15% of the time.
