The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the department, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves updating program documents, managing advisory committees, providing quality instruction and advising to students, and ensuring the efficient and effective use of department budgets and resources. The Chair will also be tasked with maintaining program accreditations, recruiting students and faculty, and managing the professional development and evaluation of department staff. Applicants must have a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, a minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience at the college level, and a strong background in administrative roles within higher education. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal forms, and to exhibit knowledge of instructional methods, including curriculum design principles and learning theory. The Chair will be expected to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college and community partners, as well as to guide and participate in the assessment of courses, programs, and the department as a whole.
