The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a wide range of EHSS matters, with a particular emphasis on health, safety, and security regulations. This includes but is not limited to, OSHA, CAA/RMP, DHS, CFATS, MTSA, DOT/PHMSA, and CGMTA. The role involves conducting in-depth legal research, offering strategic counsel on regulatory and enforcement issues, and supporting complex commercial transactions with EHSS components. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in crisis response and management, internal investigations, and will represent the company in legal disputes and regulatory interactions. Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas, with a minimum of 5 years' of experience in EHSS, particularly in the area of health, safety, and security. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal and state EHSS regulations, and experience in crisis management, and be adept at collaborating across various levels of a large corporate enterprise. A strong legal mind, business acumen, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure are essential. In-house counsel experience and a technical background in petrochemical facility operations are preferred. The role requires a self-starter with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing complex situations and ensuring legal compliance in line with industry standards.
