The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational planning of the center, providing executive-level management, and overseeing business operations. This role involves maintaining the laboratory's accreditations, developing and administering programs and services, and fostering relationships with external agencies, including private and governmental entities. The Executive Director will also engage with local, state, and national leaders to influence support for the center and will be expected to have a strong background in forensic science, particularly in DNA forensic laboratory administration and operation. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company's Forensic Science Center should hold a Doctoral or Master's degree in forensic science, molecular biology, or a related science, with a preference for forensic DNA specialization. A background in business and management is also required. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DNA forensic laboratory administration, be well-versed in quality assurance systems specific to forensic laboratories, and have a proven track record of leadership within the scientific community. Experience in managing financial, administrative, and scientific aspects of forensic laboratory operations, as well as a significant background in private or governmental funding, is essential. A Master's degree in business administration or a higher business degree with experience in forensic science is a preferred qualification.
