The successful candidate will be a trusted strategic partner to the President, the Board, and senior leaders, with overall responsibility for the vision, leadership, and execution of the legal strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the complex legal issues facing a decentralized higher education institution and the ability to lead and manage a large and diverse legal team. The General Counsel will also be responsible for the Office of Visa and Immigration Services, making it essential to have experience in this area. Candidates for this position should have at least 15 years of legal experience, with a focus on higher education or related fields. Extensive experience in leadership roles and interaction with senior executives and governing boards is a must. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and strategic leader, capable of serving as an institutional partner and leading a team in a diverse and dynamic environment.
