The successful candidate will be tasked with defining and developing medical communications strategies for clients, requiring a deep understanding of the market, customer, competition, and brand. This client-facing role demands the ability to present actionable implications and recommendations, as well as to be seen as a valued client partner. Key responsibilities include creating strategic deliverables such as competitive analysis, brand positioning, market research synthesis, and brand plans, and supporting strategic thinking and analytical skills within the department. The VP will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with client teams and support business development. Applicants for the VP, Strategy Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for those with experience in oncology and/or rare diseases. A minimum of 7-10 years in pharmaceutical marketing, strategy consulting, or advertising is required, along with a proven track record of leading in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role demands excellent communication skills and current knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical industry issues. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding target audiences, identifying behavior change leverage points, and recommending tools and data resources to enhance agency capabilities.
