The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical legal support to ensure that the company's marketing, branding, and product content and campaigns comply with all relevant laws and regulations. This role also involves overseeing and managing the company's IP portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets, to protect and support the company's innovative marketing and product development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a technology background and be adept at solving complex, time-sensitive legal issues in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. Applicants for this role at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, active membership in at least one state bar, and a minimum of 10 years' of experience in corporate transactional law with a focus on marketing, advertising, and IP. In-house legal experience, particularly within the financial services, fintech, or technology sector, is preferred. The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and as part of a team. The Senior Counsel will be expected to provide legal counsel on a wide range of marketing initiatives, draft and negotiate various agreements, and manage the company's IP portfolio, including conducting IP due diligence for strategic transactions. The candidate should be adept at influencing decision-making, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a current understanding of relevant laws and industry standards.
