The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating operational activities, ensuring that all patient activities within their scope of responsibility are in line with the company's standards. This role requires a strategic and collaborative approach, as the VP of Operations will work closely with the President and the senior leadership team to develop and update long-range plans that support the institution's goals. The VP of Operations will also be the key person for all operational issues, with a focus on maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-friendly environment. Candidates for the Vice President of Operations position at the company's Shadyside campus must have a master's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years' experience in a hospital or health system environment of similar size and complexity. Experience in a matrixed organization and with various service lines, particularly surgical services, is preferred. The role involves P&L responsibility, so a strong background in financial management is essential. The VP of Operations will also be involved in human resources functions, continuous quality care, and customer service improvement, and must be adept at building strong relationships with medical staff and other key constituents.
