The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the design, execution, and management of clinical trials within the hepatology therapeutic area. The Executive Director will oversee the development and implementation of clinical trial protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and scientific standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and serving as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and key opinion leaders, is a key aspect of the position. This role demands a dynamic individual with a medical degree and board certification or registration in gastroenterology/hepatology, coupled with a minimum of 10 years' experience in clinical research and development, particularly in hepatology or related fields. Candidates for this role at the company should possess a robust knowledge of hepatology-specific research priorities, public health needs, and clinical practice trends. Experience in leading and managing clinical trials, as well as a strong background in regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and ethical guidelines for clinical research, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar leadership position, with experience in global regulatory agencies and managing global clinical trials in hepatology. A PhD, Pharm D, or MPH in addition to an MD is preferred. The role also involves mentoring clinical professionals, contributing to the above asset hepatology strategy, and representing the company in scientific meetings and industry forums.
