The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of facility cleaning, maintenance, renovation, and construction, as well as ensuring the safety and security of both employees and the school environment. This role involves close collaboration with local authorities for construction permitting, executing health and safety visits, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with optimizing site inspection processes, coordinating with district staff for facility use, and serving as a liaison for various facility and athletic programs. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in school facilities management or a related field, with a strong background in engineering, building construction management, and personnel management. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with additional certifications and a Master's degree being preferred. The role demands the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both within the organization and with external contacts. The Executive Director will be expected to lead a team, manage departmental budgets, and develop long-term maintenance and modernization programs. Experience with safety and security operations, as well as a thorough knowledge of the Illinois School Code and life safety procedures, is essential.
