The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and driving the strategy to connect data from genome-scale -omics platforms with real-world population- and patient-derived genetics. This role is pivotal in leveraging advanced analytics, including machine learning and data science, to identify and validate target selection, and to drive precision medicine through the development of translational biomarkers and patient selection. The VP will also be at the forefront of integrating patient genetic and biomarker data from clinical trials to support the company's OS and clinical portfolio. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and leading a diverse group of computational biologists and data scientists is essential to ensure the deep integration of computational biology efforts into the therapeutic area strategies. Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in computational biology, with a focus on ML techniques in drug discovery and development. A proven track record in functional and statistical genetics, particularly in the areas of target identification, mechanistic fine-mapping, and biomarker development for precision medicine, is required. The role demands experience in industrializing the process of turning genetic insights into therapeutic advancements, as well as a strong background in patient stratification and precision medicine solutions in clinical development. The ideal candidate will have a history of managing and mentoring teams in a matrixed environment, and a deep understanding of regulatory considerations in the field.
