The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Real Estate Development Team, which has a significant pipeline of both preservation and new construction affordable housing projects. This role requires a strategic focus on future expansion in property management and a commitment to the company's values and goals, particularly in the areas of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The Vice President will be responsible for identifying new development opportunities, assessing project feasibility, assembling and managing project teams, and structuring project financing. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the physical and financial health of the existing housing portfolio, including compliance with regulatory requirements and the ability to inspire and lead a team. Applicants for the Vice President of Real Estate position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, or real estate (a Master's degree is preferred), and a minimum of 8 years' of work experience in at least two of the following areas: affordable housing development and finance, asset management, leasing, or property management. Essential skills include strong financial analysis, spreadsheet development, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for real estate finance, as well as excellent writing and communication abilities. The ideal candidate will also have a background in supportive housing and experience with the management of both new construction and substantial rehabilitation projects. Management experience, a working knowledge of NYC and NYS supportive and affordable financing programs, and a commitment to the mission of the company's housing programs are all required.
