The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving new and renewal business goals, particularly with large and complex accounts, in the areas of workers' compensation, commercial general liability, and commercial auto. This role requires a strong commitment to underwriting integrity, including risk selection, pricing, and meeting rate change and pricing adequacy goals. The VP will also be expected to actively participate in team and divisional meetings, as well as support the company's annual and quarterly events. In addition to the core underwriting responsibilities, the role involves relationship management, referral management, underwriting administration, and marketing. The VP will be tasked with executing a stewardship plan for the existing book of business, maintaining P&L and collateral records, and supporting the company's broader strategies on account management and product expansion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underwriting, be adept at managing relationships, and have the ability to effectively market the company's services. People management is also a key aspect of the role, with a focus on hiring, training, and retaining top industry talent.
