The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in managing complex operations, ideally within a nonprofit or similar environment with international operations experience. The role involves developing and implementing a strategic operational plan that aligns with the organization's 2025-30 strategic vision, enhancing communication, inclusivity, and culture, and ensuring operational integrity and reputation. The COO will also be responsible for driving operational excellence, fostering innovation, and compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates for the VP/COO position at the company should possess a hybrid background that may include nonprofit, government, corporate, or other relevant contexts, and have strong business acumen. Key personal assets include leadership skills, strategic acumen, strong interpersonal and communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage change and deal with ambiguity. The role requires a balance of empathy and firmness, with a focus on transparency, problem-solving, and team management.
