Please read on...The Marine Technician/Outboard Mechanic position is a key component in the service department's customer satisfaction. The position-holder is responsible for maintaining and repairing marine outboard and inboard motors for customer and dealer units, in a professional and timely manner that represents the quality image Boater's World enjoys.SIGNING BONUS AND RELOCATION MAY BE AVAILABLE.The successful candidate will be able to:Rig, Diagnose, Maintain, and Repair:Test, inspect, investigate, and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on customer and dealer unitsRepair units in a manner to minimize come backs or create customer dissatisfactionPerform routine maintenance on all types of marine vehiclesPerform safety inspection and recommend servicesPrepare new units for delivery to customers.Remove and replace OEM and aftermarket accessories and partsSeek-out opportunities to generate revenue while performing maintenancePerform lake tests as necessaryGeneral Duties and Administration:Report billable labor hours to Service ManagerCompile and submit parts requests to the Parts AdvisorMaintain a clean and tidy work areaActively pursue and participate in continuing education activitiesRecruitments: Excellent knowledge of marine motor mechanicsA minimum of three years' experience as a Marine MechanicManufacturer certification and MMI graduate preferred - Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, MerCruiser.Able to interpret complex instructions and/or specificationKnowledge and practice of shop safety proceduresDetail-oriented while maintaining high productivityAbility to work SaturdaysWorking ConditionsShop environment that may require kneeling, bending, climbing, twisting, and lifting heavy objects.May be required to work more than 40 hoursOther:The position is Monday through Saturday, with one day off during the week and Sunday.Please note the job description does not detail all the duties or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
