Job Title: Circuit Breaker Technician (Field Tech)Job Code: 19602Job Location: Norfolk, VA (On-Site)Job Schedule: 1st Shift M-F 5/8Job Description: The Circuit Breaker Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting AQB and ACB type circuit breakers. This position will make necessary connections, operate breakers, and switchboard modifications.Essential Functions: Troubleshoot AQB & ACB type circuit breakers, including SPD, ITE, GE, Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer, ABB, Whipp & Bourne, switchgear equipment, and current transducers. Perform teardown and assembly of breakers, bus work and associated electrical and mechanical components. Conduct various electrical tests using the following equipment - multimeter, megger, hipot, millivolt, and current injection set. Read and interpret schematic diagrams, drawings, specification sheets, work instructions & procedures. Make necessary connections, operate breakers, and switchboard modifications.Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.Position requires standing for long periods and being able to lift up to 50lbs.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications:Requires highly developed job knowledge and skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience to include three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers.2 years post-secondary/associates degree with four (4) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience to include three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers.Must be a US Citizen. Preferred Skills:Three (3) years of 120V-416V of shipboard electrical Experience and use of hand tools.
