Essential Functions And Primary Duties In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical tax, analytical, operational, management, and client service skills Serve as client's trusted advisor, demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to client and team Manage compliance and consulting in areas of Section 1031 exchange, Section 754 step-up, Section 163(j) interest limitation, Section 1231 gain/loss calculations as well as an ability to analyze and implement certain aspects of partnership/LLC operating agreements with respect to tax applications. Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc. Provide clients with recommendations and guidance on how to achieve their goals and assist in identifying opportunities for growth with clients. Researching tax and accounting issues and providing guidance to clients. Working closely with staff, and assisting senior management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff. Foster a team environment; demonstrates support of management and decisions and build a positive culture. Build client relationships and communicate with monthly calls/emailsSupervise bookkeepers in monthly productionAssist with high level bookkeeping items such as payroll audits and completed journal entriesReview monthly financial statementsPrepare and//or Review Individual & Business Tax ReturnsPrepare or update tax estimates as neededKeep up to date on tax education (firm provided)Assist with other filings; sales tax, 1099s, business property returnsFor Tax, this role will review and help prepare tax returns. This is a client facing role and people skills are required. For the clients we do the books for tax returns are fast and simple but we still have annual clients that dump their books on us and we have to sort out the mess. For Accounting, we have monthly and many quarterly bookkeeping clients. You will be in charge of overseeing and managing higher end client books. We have bookkeepers who will handle the monthly bookkeeping, and this role will review their work & the financial statements, then connect with the client monthly to discuss and provide value. Must be able to handle sales tax, business property tax, 1099s, payroll audits, etc. Must be able to handle journal entries on closing out properties for construction clients as well as assist in cost coding.Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or related field Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or relevant field CPA or EA licensed 5 years experience in public accounting or related field 2 years supervisory 3+ years' Experience with QuickBooks Online (or other accounting systems) Must have and preserve required licenses Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally Proficient use of applicable technology Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detailBenefits:3% matching Simple IRS, Unlimited PTO after tax season, Health Insurance, Many Team Building EventsThe annual salary target for this job in this market is $110,000 - $130,000.
