ROLE PURPOSE: We are looking for a proactive and eager Category Specialist to join our procurement team. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about learning and developing their skills in category management and strategic sourcing. The successful candidate will support the category team, gain expertise in category management, and contribute to the development of sourcing strategies.This role will work under the direction of the Global Category Manager along with internal stakeholders to negotiate and execute chemical contracts across Primient's footprint to create a low-cost and reliable category portfolio.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize procurement processes.Support the category team in conducting market research and supplier analysis.Help in the preparation and execution of sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide support.Monitor and report on supplier performance and compliance with contract terms.Participate in supplier negotiations and help secure favorable terms and conditions.Analyze spend data and assist in generating reports to support strategic decision-making.Continuously seek opportunities to learn and develop strategic sourcing skills and category expertise.Utilize available sourcing tools and technologies to conduct spend analysis, contract and supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing activities.KEY RELATIONSHIPS:Procurement teamsFinance teamsLegal TeamMFG stakeholders at all sitesSuppliers / ContractorsKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:Successfully executing the sourcing strategy/events(RFP's, RFQ's and RFI's)Timeliness and accuracy of reportingCost SavingsRisk mitigation.Stakeholder satisfactionCategory specific performanceSupplier PerformanceSupplier Safety Performance, as appropriate to the categoryKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related role.1+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or a related roleAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of procurement best practicesEagerness to learn and develop professionally.Proficient in using technology and tools, including SAP and Microsoft Office SuitePRIMARY LOCATIONS:While there is flexibility on where this position is located, you will need to reside near one of our administrative offices or plant locations.Total RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $59,688.00 - $74,610.00 and is bonus eligible.Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities.
