Our clients include criminal defendants, often through court appointments, and civil litigants, including affluent individuals and business owners. Position OverviewWe are seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for litigation, a commitment to excellence, and the flexibility to support senior attorneys while also managing a small number of their own cases. This is a hands-on role that involves significant client interaction, drafting legal documents, and collaborating on litigation strategies for jury trials. Key Responsibilities • Draft motions, discovery, and substantive legal documents in preparation for trial. • Serve as a point of contact for clients, drafting statements of fact and handling client inquiries. • Support senior attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and docket appearances as needed. • Collaborate with support staff and team members to ensure efficiency and excellence. • Occasionally act as the primary responsible attorney on smaller cases. • Engage in community involvement to build goodwill and business for the firm. • Handle travel within Texas, primarily in the DFW area, with occasional trips to other parts of the state for trial work. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school. • Admission to the Texas State Bar (active and in good standing). • Preferred: Experience in law review, mock trial, moot court, or the Order of Barristers. • Members of the Black Law Student Association or Latinx Law Student Association are encouraged to apply. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw), and Mac computers. • Technologically savvy with the ability to adapt to new software. • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. • Understanding of the sales cycle and its impact on client management, from intake through post-judgment. • Proven initiative and commitment to personal and professional growth. • Experience owning, operating, or managing a business is a plus. Work Environment • Strictly in-office or in-court role. • Standard office hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., with flexibility to meet deadlines outside these hours. • Collaborative yet demanding environment with high expectations for dedication and work ethic.
