Job Title: Accounting SupervisorLocation: Chesapeake, VAType of Role: Contract - 12 monthsPosition OverviewOur team is currently looking for an Accounting Supervisor for a client in the Oil and Gas industry.As an Accounting Supervisor, you will work with a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including lease accounting, financial statement reporting and analysis, consolidation, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other ad-hoc assignments. You assist with leading the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.Responsibilities & Essential DutiesSupervise team of accounting personnel located in Chesapeake, VA and Support Regional Accounting Manager and site BP'sManage team's accountability for the completion of key controls and ensure that all deadlines are adhered toSupport appropriate workload allocation, set-up of an appropriate back-up system within the team including sharing of knowledge and upkeeping of proper process documentations and system access directoryProvide constructive and meaningful feedback to team members on a regular basis on their individual performance & complete annual performance process as per company requirementsConstantly support team in their professional development; initiate and oversee a performance improvement plan if necessaryProvide any required training/development for team, including developing a structured induction for new hiresPrepare all assigned journal entries and related account reconciliations monthlyComplete all assigned Blackline tasks and reconsPrepare and provide monthly financial reports to managementComplete all other assigned daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasksAssist with any tax or other audits as neededEnsures compliance with company policies, US GAAP, SOX and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within company's ethical code of business conductEnsures that all financial data is accurate, complete and submitted in accordance with company timetablesWhere required, ensures that local statutory returns, secretarial matters and other fiduciary matters are efficiently dealt withQualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance fieldRequired Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experienceUS GAAP experienceASC 842 experienceFinancial statement analysis experienceDemonstrated ability to motivate and develop people.Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.Strong bias for action and ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues.Strong Excel and Microsoft Access skills.Preferred Skills/ExperienceLicensed CPA.IFRS knowledge preferredSAP GL and SAP BPC preferredGlobal Edge Group, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
