Become an integral part of AGS's continued success.The Construction Materials Testing Manager position oversees field duties to ensure we meet ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, internal quality objectives, and safety standards. This position is responsible for creating, reviewing, and distributing laboratory and field test reports to clients and may also serve as a project manager.The Construction Materials Testing Manager position performs construction observation and construction materials testing, including, at minimum, the density of soils and various properties of freshly placed concrete. This position will also perform and supervise asphalt quality control/assurance laboratory and field testing.AGS is offering you the opportunity to assist with selecting, setting up, and implementing new asphalt laboratory equipment, procedures, and field testing programs for our latest asphalt testing initiative.Your Role:Performing the tests customarily required in the manner stipulated under ASTM, AASHTO, or other governing proceduresEvaluating test results in terms of specification compliancePerforming field inspections and observations on roadways, structures, and other construction projectsPerforming soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testingProactively communicating with the contractor and the client to progress the project and meet the project goalsMonitoring work procedures for compliance with project specificationsProviding daily reports of observation and test resultsPerforming analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing dataMust be a highly motivated self-starter and be able to perform tasks with little or no supervisionThe Construction Materials Testing Manager must keep a detailed account of their activities throughout the day and week and, like all employees, maintain a clean and safe workspace and vehicle.Qualifications:At a minimum, this position requires the following:4+ years of materials testing and/or inspection experience, particularly in asphaltMust have the ability to interpret construction plans/ drawings and project specifications as well as industry standards for testing (ASTM and AASHTO)NICET- I or II certification in asphalt or equivalent training preferredEngineering degree not required but preferredProfessional Engineer preferredCapable of routinely lifting 50 + pounds.
