We are looking for an experienced Geoscience Data Technician to join us.Ideal Candidate Requirements: Minimum bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, or other relevant field10+ years of experience working in an extractive industry such as oil, gas, mining, with a focus on geophysical and geological data managementBroad understanding of geoscience datatypes including all types of seismic, potential fields, well logs, models, etc.Proficiency managing data in geoscience software platforms: Petrel, Kingdom, and ArcGIS Experience in 2D and 3D seismic data loading and coordinating systems conversionsProven track record of successful geoscience data management projectsExcellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a geographically distributed team Ideal Candidate Preferred Qualifications: Experience creating seismic and potential field data attributes and derivatives for novel applications of geophysical data in exploration workflowsAbility to do simple seismic processing such as gain control and data conditioningFamiliarity with S&P (IHS) data products and their integration to geoscience applicationsWorking knowledge of Python and SQLFamiliar with advanced data science techniques including programing for novel data integration applications, artificial intelligence, and data dashboard displaysExposure to working in cloud environments and Azure developmentExperience creating and managing data rooms, virtual and physicalJob Responsibilities: Responsible for loading geoscience data into interpretation platforms. QC data to ensure that data loads are robust and consistent.Work alongside other data technicians to manage geoscience data and software in support of geoscience interpretation projectsManage other geophysical and geological data such as potential fields and well data Actively contribute towards establishing standards, procedures and protocols for data management (naming conventions, QC process, backup etc.)Continuous engagement with stakeholders and external vendors in defining and refining acceptance levels of data quality & standards, controls for access, backup and security.Onboarding Notes: Koloma provides exceptional benefits including healthcare, vision, dental and a retirement planThis is an in-office role in Denver, Colorado or Columbus, Ohio.
