Job Description: Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Peri-Anesthesia/Procedure Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Clinical Nurse - Peri-Anesthesia in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK). We provide comprehensive cancer treatments to children of all ages. The unit also provides 24-hour urgent care services to patients and family members. Role Overview:Implement the nursing process for Pediatric oncology patients receiving anesthesia for procedures and scans in the Pre-Anesthesia, Intra-Procedure and Post Anesthesia Recovery areas.Provide intensive continuous monitoring and nursing interventions postoperatively.Participate in management for a caseload of patients consisting primarily of children and adolescents.Administer chemotherapy, perform patient assessment, and venous access procedures.Provide pre-procedure/anesthesia care, symptom management, and patient and family education.Act as part of a multidisciplinary team providing continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up.Participate in the implementation of clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum. Key Qualifications: BSN and NYS RN License/Registration RequiredBCLS, PALS RequiredA minimum of 5+ years of Peri-Anesthesia and/or Oncology related experience required; Core Skills: A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions.Capable of building strong customer (patient) relationships and delivering customer-centric solutionsAction-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a high energy and enthusiasmAn effective communicator, capable of resolving how to best reach different audiences and communicating based on that understandingPlease Note: This opportunity is not open to new graduate RNs.
