Become a member of the Johnson Controls family and thrive in an empowering company culture where your voice and ideas will be heard - your next great opportunity is just a few clicks away! What we offer Competitive salary  Paid vacation/holidays/sick time Comprehensive benefits package including 401K, medical, dental, and vision care - Available day one  Extensive product and on the job/cross training opportunities with outstanding internal resources Encouraging and collaborative team environment Dedication to safety through our Zero Harm policy Company vehicle, Tools, and Equipment to complete all jobs Providing Scheduling and management support JCI Employee discount programs (The Loop by Perk Spot) Check us Out: A Day in the Life of the Building of the Future you will doThe Sprinkler Designer will be engaged in the preparation of detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings to assure the efficient and effective placement of our products and systems.How you will do itRead and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform; coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations.Perform field check of completed design to verify accuracy.Work closely with the district contracting teams to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew; coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.Mentor others in the proper execution of sprinkler design using acquired experience, proficiency, and knowledge. Ability to assist sales in design estimations.What we look forRequiredHigh School diploma or equivalentAt least 2-4 years of fire sprinkler design experienceWorking experience of AutoCAD, Hydra CAD, Sprinkler Design Software or equivalent sprinkler design softwarePreferredAbility to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebraProficient in AutoCAD, MSOffice, Sprinkler Design Software, and a hydraulic calculation programInterpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System LayoutNICET III certification preferredDegree in Engineering or Design related fieldHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $42-50 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
