Job Description: Investment Analyst Exciting Opportunity at MSK Are you ready to build your career in investment management while contributing to a meaningful mission? Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking an Investment Analyst to join our Investment Management Division (IMD). This role supports MSK's mission to end cancer for life by managing financial resources that sustain our groundbreaking patient care, research, and education. The IMD team oversees $8 billion in long-term assets across a globally diversified portfolio, including hedge funds, global equities, fixed income, private equity, venture capital, real assets, and healthcare-specific opportunities. As an Investment Analyst, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of asset classes and investment strategies, building foundational experience in a mission-driven organization. This position is structured as a three-year commitment with the potential for promotion to Senior Investment Analyst or Investment Associate, based on performance, career goals, and organizational needs. The role follows a hybrid work model with flexibility to work onsite at MSK's New York City office. Role Overview: Monitor and Analyze Investments: Conduct research and provide insights on portfolio performance, assessing managers, funds, and asset classes using both quantitative and qualitative methods.Develop Peer and Asset Class Research: Review holdings, characteristics, and strategies to support investment decision-making.Attend Investment Manager Meetings: Engage with current investment managers to gain valuable insights and build relationships. Evaluate New Opportunities: Research potential investments across asset classes, sectors, stages, and geographies, presenting findings to the IMD team.Leverage Technology and Tools: Identify, evaluate, and manage resources for monitoring managers and markets effectively. Collaborate on Portfolio Activities: Contribute to asset allocation, risk management, and cross-functional projects. Key Qualifications and Core Skills: Experience: Up to 4 years in investing, investment banking, consulting, or a related field. Backgrounds in healthcare, data science, engineering, or natural sciences is a value add.Analytical Skills/Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strong research, financial modeling, and data analysis abilities that derive actionable insights and proactively address challenges with thoughtful solutions.Technical Proficiency and Innovation: Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 applications; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau); openness to adopting new tools and methodologies. Communication and Collaboration: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail; willingness to work closely with team members to achieve shared goals. Curiosity, Growth Mindset, and Adaptability: Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
