Senior MMIC Design Engineer (onsite) Job Description:As part of a fast-moving team, the Senior Design Engineer will report directly to the Design Engineering Director. The product focus is on MMIC amplifiers including LNAs, power amplifiers, and distributed wideband amplifiers. The role will allow for significant exposure to and mentoring from Distinguished members of technical staff within the group who are renowned experts in their fields. Responsibilities: Designing GaN/GaAs MMICs and MMIC based RF products that comply with initial specifications, thorough simulations, testing, managing the project to validation, supporting the manufacturing release and qualification. Working with customers, product management, product engineers, test engineers and applications engineering. Qualifications: Solid working knowledge of GaN/GaAs MMIC design techniques, especially multi-stage power amplifier design Demonstrated design experience in a number of the following topologies: Travelling wave amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, gain blocks, variable gain amplifiers, power amplifiers, power detectors. Experience in the design of other functional blocks (mixers, attenuators, phase shifters, multipliers, low additive phase noise amplifiers etc) is a plus. Familiarity with methods of thermal analysis Solid working knowledge of simulation and layout tools (ADS design software including EM simulation) Knowledge of all characterization equipment and techniques required to characterize the listed devices Ability and willingness to characterize products hands on in the lab when required to meet project schedules Definition of specifications, development of test plans, working with technicians to execute characterization testing B.S. plus 5 years of engineering work experience M.S. plus 2 years of engineering work experience Ph.D. showing relevant MMIC design experience Work Authorization: Because this position is part of a business unit that contracts with the U.S. government, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person.
