For more information on Stanley Consultants, please visit Consultants is seeking a Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager for our Chicago, IL office to lead and deliver water projects in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This position is responsible for technical planning, design, construction, and project management of drinking water source, distribution, storage, and water treatment projects.The Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager will have a Midwestern US network of drinking water connections and regional expertise in one or more of the following:Water distribution, transmission, and storageWater/Wastewater treatmentWastewater conveyance and peak weather flow infrastructureWater ReusePump StationsHydraulic modelingAsset managementRisk and resiliency consulting and designSmart water system planning, design, and implementation What You Will Be Doing:Leading team delivery of drinking water projects including evaluation and detailed design of intake structures, surface and ground water treatment plants, water reuse systems, storage, pumping, and transmission and distribution projectsPreparing master planning reports and documentation required for grants and loansSelf-motivated subject matter expert; demonstrated through participating in local professional organizations, preparing, and presenting market specific papers and presentationsAbility to articulate and operate within the One Water paradigmIntegration of smart water systems, process automation, and machine learning into overall water production and distribution designUse AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and other applicable engineering design toolsWork in collaboration with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) in producing plans and specificationsAssisting in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQsProviding marketing, technical leadership, and support during the procurement and execution of projectsDeveloping and maintaining long-term relationships with clientsAssisting clients with permitting, property acquisition, and stakeholder involvementSuccessfully collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teamsConsistently managing and delivering projects on time and within budgetDesire and ability to manage and mentor staffRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental EngineeringAt least 10 years of relevant experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license; Illinois PE preferred or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire dateIllinois, Indiana, Michigan, and/or Wisconsin network of water/wastewater connectionsRegional expertise in one or more areas of water supply, treatment, storage, and/or distribution technical expertiseActive participation in professional organizationsStrong verbal, computer, and organizational skillsExcellent technical writing skillsStrong client relationship skillsExcellent design team leadership skillsPreferred Qualifications:Master of Science (MS0 or PhD degree in either Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
