Senior Manager-Governmental Audit

THE FOCUS IS YOU As an Audit Senior Manager, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing and directing the execution of audit engagements across governmental & nonprofit clientele. Your extensive experience in audit and assurance, combined with exceptional leadership skills, will drive the firm's commitment to delivering top-tier client service, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and fostering the professional growth of your team. WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): Engagement LeadershipLead and manage a team of audit professionals, including managers, seniors, and staff members, in planning, executing, and concluding audit engagementsEnsure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm standardsClient Relationship ManagementCultivate and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for audit engagementsProvide strategic insights and recommendations to clients for enhancing financial processes, controls, and reportingAudit Planning and StrategyCollaborate with partners and directors to develop comprehensive audit strategies and plans that align with client objectives, risks, and regulatory requirementsOversee resource allocation, assignment of roles, and development of audit programsAudit Execution, Review and Technical Expertise:Perform intricate audit procedures and review complex accounting and auditing matters to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and disclosuresApply deep technical knowledge of accounting principles (GASB, Yellow Book, GAAP), auditing standards, and regulationsTeam Development and MentorshipFoster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the audit teamProvide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to managers, seniors, and staff members, enabling their success and developmentQuality Control and AssuranceEnsure that audit documentation, reports, and conclusions meet the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm policies and regulatory guidelinesImplement best practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of audit engagementsBusiness DevelopmentIdentify opportunities to expand the firm's client base and service offeringsContribute to business development activities, including client proposals, presentations, and networkingRisk ManagementAssess and manage risks associated with audit engagements, including potential areas of concern, conflicts, and liabilityImplement strategies to mitigate and minimize risks for the firm and clientsThought LeadershipStay current with evolving accounting standards, industry trends, and regulatory changesShare insights and knowledge with the audit team and contribute to the firm's thought leadership initiatives WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required education and experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field8+ years of relevant experience5+ years of relevant audit experience within a CPA firm, with progressive leadership responsibilitiesExperience with governmental or local municipalities is requiredDeep understanding of governmental accounting standards, regulations (GASB, Yellow Book, GAAP), and compliance requirements CPA license is requiredResponsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement WHO WE ARE READY TO DELIVERWe take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible.
