Mechanical Estimator Mechanical Contractor - Mechanical Construction- Estimator - MEP - HVACOur client is an excellent large mechanical contractor in the Greater Maryland & Washington, DC Metro area and is actively seeking a to add a Mechanical Estimator to the group. This role will provide take-off and estimates for mechanical projects including ductwork, HVAC, piping and plumbing projects, hydronic systems & boilers in commercial and industrial settings.Job DescriptionProvide quantity take-offs, analyses, estimates, and studiesReview bid documents and RFP's to determine the scope of work and prepare estimatesNegotiate and work with suppliers for material cost & availabilityAble to communicate and interact with vendors, subcontractors and clientAbility to read project diagrams, drawings and specificationsAbility to meet deadlines for estimates/bidsMaintain existing relationships and develop new ones with clients, equipment and material vendors and subcontractorsReview invitations to bid and identify high potential opportunitiesReview plans, specification and all relevant documents to understand project requirementsSubmit RFI's as needed to clarify a specific discrepancy or a potential problemRequest pricing from subcontractors and vendersConduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, and production timesObtain, review, and compare quotes from venders and subcontractors.Negotiating price with the suppliers for the equipment & materials per the project budgetQualificationsFour (4) or more years of estimating experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Process Piping, or Mechanical systems estimating in a mechanical contracting companyAble to read drawings and specification, compile an accurate take-off and summaryPreparation of mechanical estimate scopes of work, calculating takeoff of scopes of work for HVAC, mechanical and piping systemsReviewed bid drawings, specifications, general conditions, and other relevant bid documents prior to materials take-off and cost estimate of mechanical projects for subcontract or prime bidsCommunicate with vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractor requirements for pricing, delivery dates, and product compliance within specificationsIdentifying possible cost saving opportunitiesKnowledge of HVAC equipment, materials and methods of installationStrong working knowledge of mechanical systems in Industrial, mechanical contracting, mechanical construction fieldKnowledgeable in the use of a computerized estimating program as well as proficiency in Windows/PC-based softwareStrong communication and negotiation skills, excellent team playerExcellent communication skillsPlease send a current resume to alex@ for consideration and more details.My client is highly accessible to individuals that live in the Maryland, D.C. or Northern Virginia areas.Alex ShowersLiberty Personnel Services484-567-2087alex@#Construction#MidseniorKey Words: (Take-off, HVAC Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, HVAC, Commercial HVAC, Controls, HVAC Design, HVAC Engineer, HVAC/R, Plumbing, Process Piping, Mechanical Construction, Mechanical Contractor, Mechanical Estimating, Project Manager)Category: Construction - Mechanical-HVAC-MEP
