CPA Firm - Director-level opportunities

FlexStaff has exciting Director-level opportunities with our client, a leading full-service accounting firm in Suffolk County. Recognized as one of Long Island Business News's Best Places to Work for the fourth straight year, our client is seeking experienced accounting professionals to lead and grow either their Nonprofit or Construction practice. Position: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office) Responsibilities: Managing assurance and tax engagements (as applicable to specialization) including scheduling, planning, reviewing workpapers, and delivering client deliverables.Developing engagement plans and ensuring timely and accurate completion.Serving as the primary relationship manager for clients, providing proactive support and addressing their specific industry needs and challenges. For Nonprofit clients, this includes presenting financial information to client boards.Mentoring and training staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, and contributing to their professional development.Supporting firm-wide growth initiatives, including marketing and client development/outreach within the chosen specialization. Requirements:Bachelor's degree CPA licensure10+ years of relevant public accounting experience, preferably in the Nonprofit or Construction sectorAdvanced knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS. Additional knowledge of the following standards is required based on specialization:Nonprofit: Nonprofit-specific compliance standardsConstruction: SSARSProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Tax preferred.
