The Benefits of working at BJ's•        BJ's pays weekly•        Eligible for free BJ's Inner Circle and Supplemental membership(s)*•        Generous time off programs to support busy lifestyles*                       o Vacation, Personal, Holiday, Sick, Bereavement Leave, Jury Duty•        Benefit plans for your changing needs*                      o Three medical plans**, Health Savings  Account (HSA), two dental plans, vision plan, flexible spending "‹•        401(k) plan with company match (must be at least 18 years old)*eligibility requirements vary by position**medical plans vary by locationJob Summary: To maintain Ammonia Refrigeration equipment, and perform maintenance activities for buildings and equipment in order to support facility operationsJob Responsibilities:● Embody the Burris Philosophy of "Make It Happen, Get It Right, I am Burris"â— Complete proper and timely preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and systems in the ammonia refrigeration system (such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, purgers, etc.) operate efficiently, properly, and safely while also minimizing down time. ● Replace defective refrigeration equipment as needed● Control the equipment temperature set points to accommodate the needs of our customers and maintain the integrity of the product. ● Maintain control of the water treatment system and and associated chemicals● Ensure all paperwork and reports are accurate, completed on time and meets OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements● Monitor third party maintenance vendors working near or with ammonia refrigeration system to ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and EPA safety policies● Perform ammonia and oil sampling for analysis on regular schedule● Train team members on ammonia leak and spill procedures, coaching those team members who require additional training to meet the standard● Participate in leak and spill drills to meet requirements● Actively participate in Emergency Response planning for location● Inspect, test and calibrate ammonia detection system as neededExperience and Qualifications:● Education - High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience, documented electrical certification experience 480/ 3 phase and control voltage preferred● Minimum 2 years Ammonia Refrigeration experience required● Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), or ability to receive in-house PSM training within 90 days required● Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Level 1 certification from Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) or Refrigeration Operator Class 1 license or ability to obtain within 1yr of hire required● Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred● Ability to complete 24 Emergency Training Course within 90 days of hire required● Ability to complete the 8 hour Emergency Training refresher course annually required● Ability to understanding and comply with EPA and OSHA policies, procedures, programs and safety management● Ability to read and interpret Process and Identification drawings● Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation diagrams● Ability to use measuring tools including but not limited to dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, etc. ● Ability to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck and HiLo safely and accurately● Knowledgeable in computer usage to include email, word processing, spreadsheets● Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources● Accuracy and attention to detail● Able to read and write in English with corrected or uncorrected vision● Able to understand and speak English● Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays● Ability to Travel - minimalEnvironmental Job Conditions:● Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally ● Able to sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment● Able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis● Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)● Endurance for continuous, fast paced work● Must be able to pass respirator fit test, wear respirator and may be required to wear Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) if authorized & trained● Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit● Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment● Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses) ● Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)● Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.) ● Ability to utilize equipment for the job (such as computers, cell phone, handheld trackers, copiers, scanners, printers, etc. In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $30.00.
