Primary Responsibilities The Commercial Vehicle Spotter is responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles, spotting trailers in the yard, loading and unloading of trailers and performing yard checks. This work will be primarily outdoors and the spotter will be exposed to the elements. Essential Functions Operate Tractor-Trailer and/or straight truck in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties and special projects as requested. Maintain safe work practices. Maintain safeguards of confidential company information. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2 years prior experience of OTR driving experience or training school equivalent. Certified Driver's License (CDL) Class A. Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude: Must be able to operate sit down forklift to OSHA certification. Must be highly motivated self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be detail oriented. Need to be able to adapt to changing conditions. Have ability to listen to and follow directions. Must be able to follow established procedures. Must have a good attendance and tardy record. Must be able to communicate in English both written and orally. Must have a valid CDL license and good driving record. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, and climb. The associate is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate to high.
