Job DescriptionA top teaching hospital in Queens, NY, is hiring a Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. The new Director will lead a team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons providing care in our oral and maxillofacial surgical clinics, inpatient units and addressing the clinical needs of the medical center and the community at large.ResponsibilitiesSupervise the residentsServe as a research mentorOversee the administration of the departmentEnsure the program meets the needs of both the hospital, community and the residency program.Responsible for the daily operations of the department, including administrative functions, staffing and credentialing.Develop clinical protocols and performance improvement initiatives.Opportunity for a faculty appointment Requirements:DDS or DMD degreeBoard certified in Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryValid New York State LicenseDEA and Medicaid numberStrong clinical abilities, teaching experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills Salary: The posted range is not a guarantee.
