Physician AssistantOur client is a Federal Qualified Healthcare center providing healthcare.Location: Queens, NY. Onsite.Salary: 150,000.00K annually depending on experienceExperience: Minimum of one years' clinical experience. Experience with pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. Familiarity with word processing and other computer applications.*New graduates are encouraged to apply with a passion for providing treatment for substance abuse disorders.License: Unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner license.Patient Care:Provides medical care to Floating Hospital pediatric, adolescent, and adult patientsTakes relevant patient historyIdentifies patient needs and makes diagnosesDevelops and implements treatment plans using diagnostic dataPerforms complete well-care examinations including physical examinationsPerforms complete gynecological histories and physical examinations as indicatedWrites prescriptions and informs patients about medications prescribedCompletes medical forms and documentation related to patient careMakes and tracks all referrals to other agencies and providers, with follow-up care providedAssists with immunizations and/or phlebotomy, as needed, to ensure smooth patient flowWorks collaboratively with physician and specialists for consultation and referral purposesMeets with designated supervising physician on a regular and predetermined basis, in order to receive recommendations and collaborate towards delivering quality health care to patients, based on accepted standards of-careParticipates in Peer Review process.Encourages health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Provides health education on topics including but not limited to preventive medicine and counseling on chronic diseases, as well as parenting, prenatal, nutrition, family- planning, medication usage, and stress managementProvides patient advocacy, as appropriate for the siteParticipates in patient outreach, as appropriate for the siteAdministrative Duties:Observes, implements, and promotes the federal regulations as defined by HIPAA and Policies and Procedures as defined by clinic.When at a satellite site, acts as on-site supervisor of medical assistantsTeaches medical assistants about: patient care and triage, to improve patient flow, and communicates with Clinic Flow Manager regarding status of flow at clinic siteParticipates in case conferences in which patient care is discussedAssists the Chief Medical Officer in the development and implementation of medical protocols and medical formsMay initiate and participate in research related to health care or allied fields, in collaboration with the Chief Medical OfficerMakes suggestions to clinic supervisors to improve patient careEMR Access includes the following actions/areas:Demographic, Registration, Appointment/Scheduling, Scanning, Triage, PMH/Vitals, Orders, Immunizations/PPD, Progress Note, Reporting, Labs, Medical Summary, Telephone EncountersUnrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner license.
