Our Automotive Painters are responsible for applying paint and coatings to our buses, ensuring a high-quality finish that exceeds industry standards. Automotive painters must have a keen eye for detail, knowledge of different painting methods, and the ability to work with precision and in a team environment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.IN THIS ROLE YOU WILLUse problem solving skills and attention to detail to contribute to the completion of the body and aesthetics of a busMasks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coatedFills cavities and dents with Bondo to attain smooth surfaceSelects and mixes paint according to specificationsBlends color between adjacent parts in order to optimize integration into the bodyworkLays out stripe patterns to achieves desired aestheticsInspect and verify the quality of work and document defects observedMaintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materialsDemonstrate proficiency in operating sanders, grinding tools, and spray guns such as HVLP for primer applicationInput data and retrieve assembly instructions or production data using a computer or tabletMaintain a safe, clean, organized and collaborative work environmentOther job functions as requiredBasic QualificationsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented production or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and effective communication skillsProven experience as an automotive painter with Minimum3 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAttention to detail and precision in paint applicationAbility to follow work instructionsEfficiently manage time to meet production deadlines and targetsAble to frequently and repetitively, lift, push, and carry up to 70 lbsAbility to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, up to 8+ hours per dayMust be able to read, speak and understand English, both written and verbalAbility to adhere to safety protocols and guidelinesKnowledge in use of computers and tablets for data entry and assembly instruction researchHigh School Diploma or equivalentWork Environment/Physical RequirementsFast-paced and high-quality manufacturing environmentRequires frequent and repetitive bend, lift, squat, kneel, twist, and reach motions to install vehicle parts within specified timeframes.Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other elevated structuresWear Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, coveralls, respirators, hearing protection, and gloves, while following safety rules and guidelinesUnion Participation is requiredStandard start time at 5:00 a.m. ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ROLE: There is a probationary period for ninety working days.
