We are working with a well-established Texas law firm seeking an Associate Attorney with five to seven (5-7) years litigation experience, including substantial construction defect litigation experience, to join its Dallas office. Insurance defense and personal injury defense experience are also important; and trial experience is always a plus. Salary is $115,000-$135,000 (depending upon experience). The firm is emphatic about a good work/life balance. Bonuses are based upon good faith hours"”counted as billables"”and an annual review. The firm offers paid parking and Dart passes; hybrid work after (60) sixty days (3 days in-office/2 days remote); 30k life insurance, medical/dental/vision benefits, and long-term disability (all after thirty (30) days with the firm). Candidates must be active members of the Texas bar in good standing.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESManage an active case load.Manage timely reporting to clients and insureds (as applicable).Maintain client satisfaction, providing prompt communication before, during and after cases.Research the law applicable to cases or matters; draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and opinions as required.Remain current with developments in the law.Conduct discovery; hearings; trials; depositions (taking and defending); oral arguments; mediations; arbitrations; administrative and similar proceedings, as required; and properly prepare clients, insureds, and other persons, as necessary and appropriate, in relevant litigation contexts.Effectively communicate and persuade using written and verbal skills.Coordinate with experts, when appropriate.Conduct settlement negotiations, if requested.Do all other work necessary to provide vigorous advocacy to the client.Meet all deadlines in a timely manner providing completed work product to the supervising attorney sufficiently in advance of any deadline for constructive discussion of options.QUALIFICATIONSLitigation experience: 5 years +Excellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsInsurance defense litigation experiencePersonal injury defense litigation experienceConstruction defect defense litigation experience (3-4 +)Computer and software proficiencyActive member of the Texas State BarOTHER DETAILS:Salary: $115,000-$135,000 (DOE)Bonuses: Based on good faith hoursBenefits: 30k life insurance, medical/dental/vision benefits, and long-term disability, all after thirty (30) days with the firm; paid parking and Dart passesWork Environment: Hybrid after sixty (60) days (three days in-office/two days remote)Candidates may apply to this position on LinkedIn, the Hire Counsel website, or by direct e-mail to dadler@.
