About Us:At H&M Tax Group, we specialize in delivering comprehensive tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Tax Associate to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex tax projects, collaborate with a dedicated team, and provide excellent client service.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 990, and 1065 for individuals, trusts, corporations, non-profits, and partnerships. Collaborate with the Client Accounting team to understand financials and review Income Statements and Balance Sheets. Prepare and adjust financial statements, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheet, making necessary adjustments to align books with federal tax requirements.Represent clients during federal and state tax audits and respond to IRS notices with effective solutions.Conduct in-depth federal tax research, focusing on issues such as R&D credits, Net Investment Income Tax, Employment Tax, credits, and deductions.Collaborate with the Client Accounting team to understand financials and review Income Statements and Balance Sheets.Provide clear communication with clients to address inquiries and explain tax summaries.Support clients with yearly tax planning, projections, and customized tax strategies based on their business type and financial needs.Respond to client questions and ensure the accurate preparation of tax returns, conducting research as needed.Prepare and file forms for foreign entities, such as Form 5471 and Form 8858.Handle e-filing of tax returns, BOIR, and FBAR to ensure timely and compliant submissions.Prepare scripts and videos to summarize tax returns for clients, enhancing their understanding of their tax filings.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting.CPA/EA certification or progress towards CPA is preferred.Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 990, and 1065).Strong understanding of financial statements' review, including but not limited to reviewing P&L, Balance Sheet, Trail Balance, General Ledgers, Bank reconciliation, etc.Ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to clients and internal teams.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.If you're a motivated and experienced tax professional looking to make a significant impact at a growing firm, we'd love to hear from you!
