ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to Physicians, other Radiology Technicians, and Registered Nurses in the performance of more complex proceduresCoordinate the daily activities within the Interventional Radiology DepartmentPerform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved technique and the ALARA limitsPosition the patient on the examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by the physicianFunction to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wideExplain procedures to the patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperationUnder the direction of a Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon, performs all Interventional procedures on all patient populationsPrepare and maintain a sterile environment by using aseptic techniques, drapes, equipment, and solutions while assisting the interventional radiologistPractice established principles of radiation safety and protectionDemonstrate appropriate and effective use of all radiographic equipment and computer systems such as RIS, PACS, and other hospital based computer or PC systemsUtilize time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiencyPerform any and all other duties as assigned QualificationsJob RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of experience as a Radiology TechnicianGraduate of an accredited Radiology Technology programNJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT and BLS certificationsPreferred Job RequirementsAt least two (2) years experience in Interventional or Cath lab
