Requisition #: 9200041024AMKShift: Day ShiftLocation: South Windsor, CTJob Description:Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will use predetermined methods, operations, and established specifications to perform and complete shipping of products such as engine components, equipment, calibrated instruments, and company-wide consumables. The Shipping Coordinator will coordinate outbound and inbound logistical operations both domestically and internationally. Tasks include releasing customer deliveries, creating and finalizing shipments, contacting carriers, and preparing transportation documentation. This person will also work with customer service, the department supervisor, and the shipping dock to expedite customer orders and troubleshoot issues that could arise. They will unload/load packages from incoming/outgoing trucks; inspect contents to ensure received in proper condition; verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.); assume responsibility for returning shipments or receiving replacements, when applicable; label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place; maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control; adhere to all safety standards; cross-train in other areas and duties within the department; and adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.Requirements:Outstanding organization skills, detail orientation, time management, and communication skillsMust maintain an excellent attendance recordAbility to manage time effectively and communicate across multiple departmentsAbility to organize, verify, and schedule outgoing shipmentsAccurate and competent use of all equipment related to shipping and receivingAbility to meet critical deadlines and work in a fast-paced environmentBasic computer navigation and data entry skillsIntermediate or higher skill level with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Participate in cross-training efforts interacting with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledgeAbility to obtain forklift certificationMust be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervisionMust be able to perform overtime when necessary, including weekends when requiredMust be able to follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishMust be able to write and document information clearly in EnglishMust have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in EnglishHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent - Documentation RequiredMust meet ITAR definition of US Person(s) - Documentation RequiredPerform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required, including 6S projectsAdhere to all quality and safety standardsMTI is a safety-sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.Preferable Experience:1-3 years of previous logistics experienceExperience in domestic and international shippingCurrent Forklift certificationExperience working in a Quality System certified to ISO9001, AS9100, or Nadcap is a plusPhysical Demands/Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, move throughout the facility, bend at the waist and knees, squat, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Must be able to use required PPE.
