Perform the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards as may be directed by the Director of Facility Services and/or the Administrator to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manneA. Maintenance/Floor Tech Functions and Duties:Assist the Director of Facility Services in maintaining the facility in good repair; clean windows, screens and high areas; perform duties as directed or required, in compliance with established Universal Precautions, fire, safety, infection control, isolation and sanitation procedures; promptly report accidents, incidents, unsafe and hazardous conditions and that all tools and supplies are properly stored to ensure compliance with established regulations and procedures at all times.Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and specific tasks as assigned; floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner, clearly marked with caution or safety signs as required; ensure work areas are free of all hazardous objects and that all equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored at all times; ensure all established Universal Precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained and followed when performing housekeeping duties; and, promptly report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Housekeeping/Laundry Services Supervisor and/or the Administrator.Physical and Sensory Requirements: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. B. Residents' Rights FunctionsDuties:Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect; know and comply with Residents' Rights rules; and follow residents' personal and property rights at all times.Physical and Sensory Requirements:Ability to communicate with residents and ability to remain calm under stress.Other Job Functions (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):A. Administrative FunctionsDuties:Ensure that floor maintenance schedules are followed and file complaints and grievances with the Director of Maintenance.Physical and Sensory Requirements:Ability to communicate with residents and personnel and ability to read and write in English.B. Staff Development FunctionsDuties:Attend and participate in training, in-service educational activities, workshops and seminars as directed.Physical and Sensory Requirements:Ability to understand and follow training and in-service education.C. Equipment and Supply FunctionsDuties:Ensure that an adequate level of floor cleaning supplies is maintained at all times and advise the Director of Facility Services of supply needs; assist in lifting and moving heavy equipment and supplies; and, ensure that all equipment is in proper working order at all times and promptly report any malfunctions, breakdowns and hazardous conditions and equipment to the Director.Physical and Sensory Requirements:Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, ability to read and write in English and ability to communicate with residents and personnel.D.
