Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths, needs, and cultural backgrounds. Collaborating with students, families, and a team of professionals to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment. Integrating culturally responsive teaching practices to ensure that curriculum and instructional strategies reflect the diverse identities of our students. Providing targeted support and accommodations that empower students to overcome challenges and build essential life skills. Building strong relationships within the community, connecting students and families with valuable resources and support networks. What do we require from you? You should possess or are eligible for NJ certification in Teacher of Students with disabilities and one other instructional certification. A deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching and a commitment to meeting the unique needs of students in our black and brown community. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and a growth mindset to foster a positive and supportive learning environment. Perseverance and a genuine passion for advocating for every student's success.
