ABM is seeking a qualified Automatic Transfer Switchgear (ATS) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and related electrical equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of our backup power systems. Pay $44 - $54 The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. For information about ABM's benefits, visit ABM 2024 Employee Benefits | Front Line Team Members | (Programa de Beneficios de ABM) Responsibilities: Install, test, and commission new and existing automatic transfer switches (ATS) and switchgear equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on ATS and switchgear according to manufacturer's recommendations and industry standards. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions in ATS and switchgear systems. Diagnose and repair faults in ATS components, including transfer switches, controllers, and electrical distribution systems. Perform load bank testing to verify proper ATS operation and system capacity. Maintain accurate service records, documenting all maintenance and repair activities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address potential issues with backup power systems. May assist electricians with installation and maintenance of related electrical equipment. Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures while working with high-voltage electrical systems. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in ATS and switchgear technology. Qualifications: Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent experience in a related field (preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with automatic transfer switches and switchgear equipment. Strong understanding of electrical principles, including AC/DC theory, power distribution systems, and electrical safety practices. Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems. Proficient in using electrical test equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, and megohmmeters. Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70E, NFPA 70). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. Valid driver's license.
