The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position, managing tax planning and forecasting processes, and overseeing the preparation and filing of various tax returns. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in tax planning and compliance, particularly in the technology-enabled education or related industry. The VP of Tax will also be expected to maintain effective relationships with tax authorities, manage tax audits, and provide expert guidance on tax implications of business transactions. Candidates for the VP of Tax position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a master's degree in taxation or CPA designation highly preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, with a focus on partnership tax and a background in the education technology or related industry, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, experience with ASC 740, and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing tax teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to align tax strategies with overall business objectives.
