Associate General Counsel About the Company Prestigious research university IndustryHigher Education TypePrivately Held About the Role The Company is in need of an Associate General Counsel with a strong background in legal matters related to the education sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance in a variety of areas, including charitable giving, business tax, non-profit organizations, employee compensation, finance, international taxation, and charitable trusts. This role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position or in the legal field, with a proven track record in areas such as charitable remainder trusts, corporate tax compliance, and corporate tax department. The Associate General Counsel will be expected to lead key transactions, conduct in-depth legal analysis, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a state bar. The role demands excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a clear and concise manner. A high level of professional integrity, strong legal research and writing skills, and proficiency in legal research software are essential. While experience in the education sector is preferred, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes, and a proven ability to formulate, draft, and implement comprehensive legal policies and procedures.
