The successful candidate will be a key business and legal partner for the Commercial and Medical Affairs departments, providing seasoned legal advice on a wide range of matters, particularly those related to promotional and educational activities, interactions with healthcare providers, and healthcare and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry. This role requires a deep knowledge of federal and state pharmaceutical and healthcare compliance laws and regulations, including the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, False Claims Act, and Anti-Kickback Statute. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, supporting business development activities, and providing legal guidance on the company's compliance program. Applicants must have 8-10 years of in-house experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industries, with a focus on late-stage development, product launch, and mature products. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of a state bar is required, with New Jersey bar membership preferred. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of integrity, ethics, and accountability, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities. Experience with buy-and-bill products and counseling on privacy-related topics is a plus. The role also involves managing outside counsel, conducting investigations, and providing legal and compliance training.
