Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal! UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fleet Mechanic to join our UniFirst community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for carrying out all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining fleet vehicles in a safe working condition meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements. At UniFirst we have a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training. Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed when due. Verify that the appearance of fleet vehicles meet UniFirst standards. Sustain a clean, safe, and maintained garage. Purchase parts and monitor quotes for best pricing and quality. Provide back up for a shuttle run when needed. Ensure all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles is completed and up to date. Maintain fleet vehicles to ensure they are in safe working conditions, meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. QualificationsWhat we're looking for: High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent is preferred Must be 21 years of age or older. Associates degree from an accredited technical school and equivalent experience is preferred. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Must meet DOT requirements. Must be able to perform all vehicle repairs, have diagnostic knowledge with GM drivability, and some diesel experience is highly preferred. Must be willing to work overtime as needed and perform occasional road calls. 3 - 5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including: Preventative Maintenance, tire & wheel, air & hydraulic brakes, drivetrain, computerized diagnostics, suspension, electrical and A/C. Proven computer skills and ability to use diagnostic software Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
